10th Annual MK5K® FAMILY DAY RUN WALK
Gainesville, Florida Saturday, October 9th, 2021

What is the MK5K® Family Day Walk Run?
It's a 5K of Fun with family, friends and most important the company of the many Cancer survivors and victims of Abuse. A day of awareness to help raise Funding for continued Cancer Research and donations to support Domestic Shelters.
The MK5K® Family Day Run / Walk was headed off by Consultant Dani Fitzsimmons in 2010 and has been an annual event with success every year since. Dani handed her duties over to Director Cheryl Anderson who in turn handed the reigns to cancer survivor, Valentina in 2014.
Much passion, love, devotion, and a hint of patience is what makes these events so successful. Everyone is so eager to help including the young children... and not to mention the excitement for all the FUN.
Gainesville Mary Kay Consultants Making a Difference
From the Gainesville and Surrounding area they have been on a mission since 2010 to raise awareness and inspiring women with cancer and domesitc violence. These consultants are more than just Skin Care and Lip Stick. (These women give hope and encouragement everyday)
Breaking the Silence on Violence
Statistics are shocking and the reality is tragic. Violent acts, such as domestic abuse and rape are greatest causes of injury to women. These acts destroy individuals, children and families.
The Foundation grants financial assistance each year to women's shelters and other nonprofit agencies that share determination to stop violence. Many here in our own communities and surrounding areas of Florida. Lets shower our collection boxes this year with can goods, dry goods and baby needs. Thank you
Giving Hope....
Finding a Cure for Cancers that Affect Women
The Mary Kay Foundation has awarded millions of dollars in grants to help fund innovative research studies for cancers affecting women, including ovarian, uterine, cervical and breast cancer. Grants are awarded each year to medical schools. There are trials going on as we speak for both breast and ovarian cancers.
Who's at Risk?
It could be your sister, mother, friend. It could even be you.

About our Current MK5K Gainesville Head Chair, Valentina and her Team
I’ve been an active participant of the MK5K® Family Day Run/Walk for the past 10 years. Becoming the new chair as of 2014 with direction of Cheryl Anderson and past Chair Dani Fitzsimmons, giving to local groups and benefiting the Mary Kay Foundation℠. As a Domestic abuse victim in my past and a breast cancer survivor in 2012 - these 2 charities hold a special place in my heart. However, this event couldn't endure without the the assistance of my director and sister consultant(s) my committee, my husband, children and YOUR generous donations. Knowing that we have donated to shelters close to home and surrounding cities in Florida and the continued research for cures affecting women, gives reassurance we are gaining strides for both causes.
Take care and Bless you all.
